Who we are
Dan is Editor of ACJ, overseeing the day-to-day operation of the publication; driving content planning, platform development and media relations. Previously, Dan has worked as a parliamentary officer, media advisor for World Vision and as a data analyst for Experian Footfall. He holds a Masters Degree in policy analysis from the University of Bath and a Bachelors Degree from the University of Sheffield. Dan is a strong advocate of wellbeing policy and addressing the social determinants of health having completed numerous academic research studies on the subject.
John WhelanGroup Editor
John is Group Editor of the health and care titles at Dorson West including Hospital Times and ACJ, having worked for the company for four years helping to smooth the transition from print to a strong digital publishing presence on the web. John has been a professional journalist for 47 years. His experience includes having worked in both the Middle East and Africa, south of the Sahara, as well as for Microsoft communications. He holds an M.A. from the University of Oxford.

Carl manages all partnerships and accounts for Accountable Care Journal and the wider Dorson West Group, ensuring that our partners and clients have a reliable and consistent point of contact. He has a strong history of account management, working for healthcare intelligence company, LaingBuisson and publisher, Pixel West before joining the team at ACJ. Carl holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Worcester and is passionate about ensuring clients receive the best service possible, facilitating business growth and holding himself to the highest professional standards.
